- What do Volunteers do?
Volunteers provide services in many areas throughout Kids Fight Cancer, including event assistance, fundraising solicitations, providing administrative support and more.
- How do I apply to become a volunteer?
There are a few ways to apply. You can apply directly online through this website. We will then review your application and contact you for your interview. Please complete the application in its entirety. We cannot consider incomplete applications. You may also download our application and mail it to us. - Where would I be volunteering?
We will place you in a volunteer placement that meets the needs of Kids Fight Cancer and our staff. We take into account your skills, abilities, schedule and interests when considering you for a placement.
- Would I be in an office or be assisting with events?
You will be in a placement that meets our needs and your interests, skills and abilities. There are opportunities to volunteer in office environments or working directly with our production staff. Volunteers are flexible to assist wherever help is needed. We will determine your placement at the time of the interview or volunteer meeting.
- Who volunteers at Kids Fight Cancer?
Our volunteers range in age from 16 to 90 years of age. Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, from students, working professionals, retired individuals and many others with connections to Kids Fight Cancer and the surrounding community. Cancer has 'touched' or impacted many volunteers' lives, whether through a family member, friend or personal history.
- How old do I have to be to volunteer?
All event volunteers must be at least 18 years old. To volunteer for other activities, children must seek parental approval and must be accompanied by an adult depending on the activity.
- How many volunteers are needed for events?
Kids Fight Cancer generally seeks the support of at least 30-60 volunteers for each fundraising event.
- Do Volunteers get to attend the events for free?
Yes, but volunteers are treated as employees. We encourage you to enjoy your time as a volunteer, but you are expected to perform your volunteer tasks throughout the duration of the event.
- Does Kids Fight Cancer need artists, photographers, videographers or other volunteer services?
Yes, Kids Fight Cancer is always looking for inspiring and talented individuals to donate their time to capture the events and happenings of our exciting fundraisers.
- As a volunteer, what other ways can I contribute?
Besides donating your time, you can contribute financially, donate products or services, solicit for prizes and gifts to be included in our raffles and auctions, and to solicit for corporate sponsorship to help underwrite our events and programs.
- Can I receive social service credit for school or state mandated community service?
Yes, Kids Fight Cancer welcomes any and all volunteers. Please submit a volunteer application.
